Contestants will compete in three

phases of competition for

Sterling Miss USA.

 Interview – Petite Miss and

Little Miss will  interview in the

round robin format for a

30 second  visit with each judge.

Pre-Teen and Jr. Teen  will have a three

(3) minutes interview and

Teen, Miss and Ms. contestants

will have a four (4)

minute interview, each before the panel

of judges.


​                                                              Run Way/Fun Fashion – get ready to strut  your stuff as you  show your New York style in our

contestants' favorite part of competition -

Fun Fashion.

Show your personality as you model

to upbeat music that we

provide.   








Formal Wear - get ready for your

time in the spotlight as you model

that special gown that makes you feel

like a princess. All gowns for all age

divisions should be long, to the floor

gowns with appropriate shoes. For

all age divisions, the contestant must

walk the stage by herself. 

The walking pattern will be provided,

with plenty of time to practice

before pageant weekend. We will also

have the stage marked, as the girls practice

on the stage during Saturday rehearsals.


Wardrobe Requirements:

Opening Number- An age-appropriate

WHITE cocktail/crowning dress of your

choice with nude-colored shoes will be

worn during opening number. The dress may have

silver or gold embellishments, but no other color.

During this time, the contestants will step forward

and introduce themselves by giving a greeting

(hello, good afternoon, hi, etc.), and stating  their names and ages ONLY. That is it.  There is no formal introduction.   THIS IS NOT JUDGED!


OPTIONALS:  

Casual Wear – think

fun family outing.

Something you would wear on

a special date. 

No cocktail, Fun Fashion, or

long pageant gowns for this one.  

Ideas: colored jeans, sun dresses,

summer skirts, walking shorts,

vests, jackets, jumpsuits,

rompers, etc. 





Patriotic Wear:

Model your red, white and blue,

or any of those color combinations

and show your patriotic pride.

After all, we are Sterling Miss USA!

*Note: our new titleholders will

have patriotic photos made during

their queens' photo shoot.

look good in photos,

Best Actress – contestants will wear their 

 SMUSA t-shirts, given to them at check in

and a pair of shorts, jeans or skirt for this

competition. The commercials are to be memorized 

in advance of the competition. They are located

in the paperwork section of this webpage

section under Sterling USA.

Spokes Model – contestants will

wear ​their interview dresses.
